Switzerland
has one of the most favorable tax environments in Europe and
is renowned as one of world's most attractive locations for
international groups.
A recent report published by the World Bank and co-authors from PricewaterhouseCoopers suggests that simplified tax systmes promote economic growth and can influence multinationals deciding on where to invest. The survey examins the tax regimes of 175 countries and concludes that Switzerland is the 7th easiest country when it comes to paying taxes. World-wide it takes an average of 332 hours a year for businesses to compy with tax requirements, ranging from 2,600 hours in Brazil to 325 in the U.S. to 68 in Switzerland (Source: The Wall Stret Journal, Opinion, Monday, Nov. 13, 2006).
In terms of total tax burden Switzerland ranks lowest. The total amount of taxes is the sum of all the different taxes payable after accounting for deductions and exemptions.
Total tax burden in relation to time invested to prepare and file taxes: Switzerland spends the least amount of time and has the lowest total tax burden!
