Inc Establishes EMEA Headquarters in Switzerland
NEW YORK, October 10 –
Minnesota-based grains, food and energy company CHS Inc. is establishing its
new European, Middle East and African (EMEA) headquarters in Switzerland
reported Mario Brossi of the Swiss Foreign Investment Agency LOCATION
Switzerland. The new company, CHS Europe SA, will launch operations in Geneva
in January 2008 with approximately 15 employees, Mr. Brossi said.
Claudio Scarozza, senior vice president of
the new operations, said that ÒSwitzerland, and especially Geneva, is a natural
location for a business like ours, as it is the home of several companies in
related businesses. We are
centrally located in Europe and can recruit from a highly qualified,
multilingual workforce familiar with a number of cultural environments. Indeed,Ó he said, ÒSwitzerland is
perhaps the most efficient country in Europe from which to conduct business
given its excellent communications and transportation infrastructure,
business-friendly government and realistic tax regime.Ó
Mr. Scarozza said the Geneva Economic
Development Agency is assisting CHS in terms of securing facilities and
recruiting personnel.
Mr. Brossi said that CHS represents a
further expansion of GenevaÕs position as a European agribusiness, food and
energy trading center. ÒOther firms in the region include Cargill, Conagra,
Davisco, Louis Dreyfus, Olam and Sempra Energy Trading,Ó he said.
