Integra LifeSciences Corporation establishes an office in Geneva

Integra LifeSciences Corporation is a world leader in the manufacturing of specialized devices used in complex medical fields such as neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery. The American company has a diversified product line recognized for its high quality. It has a global workforce of some 1,500 people. The new representative office based in Geneva, ILS Services Suisse S.A., will initially serve as the Integra LifeSciences orthopedic products distributor for Switzerland. For this purpose it will start operations with a team of 7, including 4 specialized medical sales representatives and 2 customer service professionals. The recruitment will take place locally.

The Geneva Economic Development Office has actively supported the establishment of this company. According to Pierre Jaquier, head of the Office, “the arrival of Integra is extremely positive for the development of the medical technology field in the canton of Geneva. The presence of Integra, together with Medtronic and Stryker already present in the region, is reinforcing our reputation in the medical and life sciences sector. Geneva is now recognized worldwide as a centre of reference in these domains.”

Pierre-François Unger, Minister of economy and health of the State of Geneva, emphasized the positive effect of this new arrival for canton’s economic development. “The medical technology sector, along with some other well-recognized industries, represents the future of this region. It provides high added value on the economic side, and this trend will develop further over the coming years. Additionally, this industry offers interesting employment opportunities and numerous possibilities for technological transfer and collaboration with university and hospital centers such as the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (Geneva University Hospitals).”

The Director of ILS Services Suisse S.A., Mrs. Sandra Dunkel, praised the quality of the local business environment for the company’s operations. “Geneva offers many advantages.
