American Vanguard Establishes AMVAC Switzerland GmbH
New Subsidiary Focused on Growing International Businesses

NEW YORK, May 23 - American Vanguard Corporation (NYSE: AVD) has expanded its international operations by forming a new subsidiary, AMVAC Switzerland GmbH, to focus activities on growth opportunities outside the United States, reports Mario Brossi of the Swiss Foreign Investment Agency, Location: Switzerland.  Vincent Pascarelli serves as Director of International Business Development and Managing Director at AMVAC's facilities in Basel, Mr. Brossi said.

Eric G. Wintemute, president and CEO of Newport, CA-based American Vanguard Corporation said, "The broad goal of AMVAC Switzerland is to grow our international business primarily through acquisitions, licenses and other collaborations with enterprises directly and indirectly affiliated with the agrochemical industry.  Having a physical presence centrally located in Europe facilitates expanding our relationships with industry leaders such as Syngenta, Bayer and BASF, as well as with smaller regional and local industry leaders," he said.
