Red Herring opens EMEA Headquarters in Switzerland

NEW YORK, March 29 - Red Herring, a leading technology business magazine and organizer of global industry conferences, has relocated its Europe, Middle East and African (EMEA) headquarters from France to Switzerland, reports Mario Brossi of the Swiss Foreign Investment Agency Location: Switzerland. Red Herring will accelerate the expansion of its presence in the regions and offer its entire product portfolio from its new facilities in Technopark Zurich, Mr. Brossi said.

Farley Duvall, Vice President EMEA of Red Herring, said 'The relocation to the geographical heart of Europe is not only due to our strategy of increased market presence in Europe. Flexible labor regulations for expatriate foreign employees in the non-EC-country Switzerland are a major incentive for international companies with multinational workforces.

"Equally important," Mr. Duvall, "are Switzerland's comparatively low social and non-wage labor costs, and generally low corporate taxation. Other decision factors included the excellent IT infrastructure and the close integration of the technology industry and the region's excellent universities compared with other metropolitan areas in Europe."

Mr. Duvall also commented on the close support given by Greater Zurich Area AG, the region's investment promotion agency, and its help in securing space in Technopark Zurich.
