RiskMetrics Group Bases New Research and Analytics Center in Switzerland

New York, October 18 - Financial risk management firm RiskMetrics Group has opened an office in Geneva to focus on research and analytics and serve RiskMetrics Group clients worldwide, reports Mario Brossi of Location: Switzerland, the country's Foreign Investment Agency. Initially staffed by a team of four analytics developers and researchers with plans to increase to six early next year, the Geneva office will ultimately become home to a full-service staff comprising sales, account management and operations personnel, Mr. Brossi said.

Christopher Finger, RiskMetrics Group's Head of Research, commented "Our goals in establishing the Geneva office are to expand our research capabilities and facilitate more interaction with our European clients. Given its rich local talent pool, attractive business climate and central location, Geneva is the perfect spot." He added "The Geneva Economic Development Office played a central role in helping to get the new office up and running."

Philippe Meyer of the Geneva Economic Development Office said "RiskMetrics presence represents an important asset for Geneva as a major location for such industries as private asset management and trade finance. The company will contribute to reinforce these activities."
