Environmental Software Providers opens EMEA Headquarters in Switzerland

New York, September 27 - ESP (Environmental Software Providers) has opened its EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) headquarters in Switzerland to provide strengthened coverage for its current and expanding business for environmental information management software products, reported Mario Brossi of Location: Switzerland, the country's Foreign Investment Agency. A staff in Zurich will support personnel across the EU to serve the region's existing customer base of ESP software through support and training, and on expanding the company's sales operations throughout the region, Mr. Brossi said.

Frank Geisler, ESP's Vice President, EMEA Sales, said Switzerland was selected for several reasons after the company evaluated sites in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the U.K. "There's no more central location within our growing market area," he said, "and within Switzerland Zurich is the premier transportation hub, with public transit, rail and air connections that enable us to reach any customer location within a few hours."

Location and transportation aside, "Switzerland is truly business friendly," Mr. Geisler said. "Red tape is kept to a minimum, and taxation is realistic and fair. Moreover," he said, "the well-educated and multilingual Swiss make it easy to do business in French, German, Italian and English."

Based in Mountain View, California, ESP has been delivering enterprise environmental information management software since 1992. Long a leader in both environmental management software and emissions portfolio management software, the company made big inroads into Europe when it launched the world's first enterprise level greenhouse gas management software solution in 2002. Its adoption throughout Europe as companies come to terms with the new requirements of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme has been swift, according to Alex Long, ESP co-founder and CEO.
