ReGen Biologics Launches European Operations from
Switzerland
NEW YORK, July 5 - Orthopedics company ReGen Biologics, Inc., has launched a
wholly owned subsidiary in Switzerland, reports Mario Brossi of Location:
Switzerland, the country's inward investment promotion agency. The
subsidiary, incorporated as ReGen Biologics, AG, will be located in the Canton
of Appenzell and will market and distribute the company's orthopedic, tissue
growth and repair products in Europe, Mr. Brossi said.

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, said several factors led the
company to decide in Switzerland's favor. "It is one of the leading
locations in Europe for biotechnology and the life sciences," he
said. "Not only is it home to many of the world's leading companies
in these fields, it has outstanding resources in higher education, including
the Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lausanne. A
business-friendly government, realistic tax structure and the availability of a
skilled and multilingual workforce all support our doing business across the
continent."
Mr. Umidi added that ReGen has
engaged the efforts of MedWork AG, a Swiss-based firm with an expansive
European network in the medical device industry. "MedWork is led by
experienced orthopedic industry executives, including Andreas Baenziger MD and
Thomas Fischer," he said. "The company is integral to our
building a proprietary brand in Europe by marketing and distributing our
orthopedic products directly and through a network of local market
distributors."
