New York, September 7 -- Agile Software Corporation (NASDAQ: AGIL), a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, has centralized in Switzerland its European shared services operations formerly located throughout Europe, reports Mario Brossi of Location: Switzerland, the country's inward investment promotion agency. Staffing for finance, sales support, IT, legal, and human resources at the company's facilities in the canton of Solothurn is expected to reach 15 by year-end, Mr. Brossi said.

Livio Michelich, CFO for Agile EMEA said the company selected Switzerland after evaluating other sites in Germany, Ireland and Austria. "Switzerland's central location and easy access to our other European locations, its multilingual workforce skilled in information technology, and the country's moderate taxation were key factors in the decision," he said.

Mr. Brossi noted that Switzerland's role is growing as a shared services center for companies' European, Middle East and African (EMEA) operations.  "Among firms with similar facilities in the Solothurn area are John Deere, Timberland and Tyco," he said. "In southwestern Switzerland, Honeywell recently announced that its European administrative center for the Turbo Technologies unit is locating in Morges."
